Getting into the groove...

Good Morning all!  It's been a while since I've posted last.  I've been cranking out assignments and projects, been doing some volunteer work for James' new teacher, and slowly been working on those wedding albums.  Today I am heading down to the gym and trying to get motivated to do that again 5 days a week or so.  I need it.  And since our Disneyland trip is in April '09, I have time to go down another size or two!  Speaking of Disneyland....did you see that they raised their rates considerably????  Goodness!  Just to stay at the Californian Grand (our fav. hotel) is now going to be $2400.....YIKES!!!!!!  So we are going to see what the in-laws and my sis in-law and her new husband think....I have 6 hotels we are thinking of staying at.... CA grand, Disneyland hotel, Paradise Pier, Carousel, Camelot and Best Western Park Place.  If you have stayed at any of the last three, let me know what your experience was like.  Those are across the street from Disneyland and start out at $1200.

I know your wanting to see what I have created lately!!! :)  So without further Ado:
I LOVE reading....and I've been meaning to make a book where I can write down my thoughts of books that I have read (good and the bad) and keep a record of what I do read and when I have read it.  :)  This  uses the new Heather Bailey papers (love her fabric, and now it's coming in paper! :))

I think I'm going to put this lovely recipe box into the sample sale that the lss I teach at is having next week (the 26th-28th).

First day of school!!!!!

It's sunday!

Just a very quiet day here at the Rose house.  The boys are playing trains, dh is watching tv and I am scrapbooking.  I got my picture order yesterday from Snapfish....it was my first time using them, and I think I will continue to use them....8 cents a pic rather than 18 cents I was paying before..... 

I have all the wedding photos sorted and will start working on the albums for the friends/family who wanted a book.

  I have one layout done already ok, back to the studio.... :)  Have a great and creative day!

quick cards, quick post

Good morning!!!  Well we survived the birthday weekend.  It went perfectly!!!!  On Saturday, we took the boys to see and ride Thomas...they were so surprised!  Then went to Santa Cruz to the boardwalk, then drove up to Half Moon Bay to our favorite beach spot and spent the rest of the day there.  We had the birthday party at our house on Sunday which went great!  The little boy got spoiled!  So now I've been taking it easy for the week, working on a few projects as I wait for my picture order of 653 pics (With all those wedding albums I'm doing it sure added up fast! :)). 

I'm also in the middle of reading the last book in the "Twilight" series!  :)

I don't think I ever posted the cards I did for Busy Bee Scrapbooking and my June article "making cards out of scraps".

My baby is 4 today!!!!!!

Time is flying by

Wow. Can you believe that it's almost the end of summer!!!!!  Goodness!  In 2 weeks James starts 1st grade and then later on Andrew will start pre-school!  Not only are the boys excited, mama is excited too! :) :)  Tomorrow is Andrew's 4th birthday.....my baby is growing up fast!  This weekend is packed full of activites, so I won't be around much until next week.  Saturday we are taking him to ride Thomas, they still don't know about it, then on Sunday we are having a BBQ for the friends and family.

A busy friday

Well had to get up extra early this morning to take Mark to the train station.  His car broke down about 2 blocks from our house yesterday.  It might be something with the transmission....not sure yet, or mechanic (aka Mark's Dad) is taking a look at it tomorrow.  We have already begun searching for a new car though.  We've been wanting one for years now and both of our cars have been falling apart like crazy!  We'll see though....We were hoping to wait until the summer of 2010 to get a new car but the car(s) may want to just die on us for good. 

So today I finished up some assignments, working on the instructions for a class kit, and cleaning the house.  I have some pics of the quilt projects I did the other day when I took the day off from scrapping....

I will be doing this from now on!  Taking at least one to two days a week off from the internet and scrapbooking and doing some of my other hobbies.....there's a lot of UFO's (UnFinished Objects) in my studio.  :)

The coffee quilt is not quilted yet....But at least I did get it pieced, appliqued and sandwiched together!  :)

another day

This is a quick post with just a few cards....I'm taking today off from the scrapping world....I want  to work on some quilt projects and so far have one little Americana hanging done!  I'll post pics of that another day.  I wanted to post both of my cards for Di Hickman card sketchs from last week and today:

seriously, I think this is by far my favorite color combo!!!!  Here I did another layout of my favorite little girl Irelynn, who is my best friend Lisa's youngest daughter.  Scrapping all three of her daughters is my only way of doing some girly pages!  The paper, butterfly chipboard and the ever awesome glitter thickers is by American Crafts.

Sunday post

I had the pleasure of having my good friend Sonda come over yesterday to spend the entire day with me in my studio!!  We got loads of projects done (some I'll share with you over this next week...others not so much since they are for my MMM entry....Whoops...did I say that outloud!) ;)  Although I rarely do crops...maybe 1 or 2 times a year, getting together with a good friend is always wonderful!!!  Just can't wait til her house gets finished so I can come up for a weekend and stay there! :) :)

So CHA was this last weekend....Did you see anything that you HAVE to HAVE????  lol....yeah, I sure did...My list is a couple of pages long....LOL.  :)  Hope most of it starts shipping soon! :) :)
