Paper Roses

A beautiful wedding....

I've been taking a few days to rest up after this weekend of such utter bliss......Seeing Mark's sister getting married to a wonderful man was just beautiful!  It all went on without a hitch!  And most importantly Mom and Dad's house survived!!! :)  Here are some shots from the wedding....I took over 300 and will start working on albums for Mom and Dad, myself, the bride and groom and others who are contracting me to make them albums. 

My grandma made my boys the chili pepper vests (since Nicole LOVES chili peppers....they match the garter belt that I made for her).  Of course I teared up during the ceremony and while the bride and groom danced their first dance.....But I really broke down and cried (happy tears of course!) when my Mark and Nicole danced together.....It was so sweet!  :)

New layouts...

This will be my last post until next week.....I still have to finish the mini books before tomorrow, when we head out to the in laws to help set up some stuff....then Saturday is the wedding, then Sunday we are going with my bff and her family to the zoo....so I won't have time for much until next monday when hopefully everything will settle down!

Now because of all the cards and mini albums I've been making in recent months, I haven't done many layouts....but here are a few I've done for Busy Bee....These are for the July articles:

Tuesday...

As I'm finishing up scrappy projects this week, I'm also "baking" a few cake and cupcake pin cushions AND I'm re painting my studio and kitchen!  lol.

Just a quick post, I did this layout a bit back about James' pre-school graduation last year....yeah, still need to work on the Kindergarden one!

One more week....

Just one week from today and my sis in law gets married!  I'm still working on those mini albums from the bachalorette weekend.  Hope to get them all done by next Friday for the wedding pre set up, since it's in the backyard of my in laws house.

Roller skating....

When did you learn how to roller skate?  I was about 4 or 5 years old, when my grandparents took me skating.  It was love at first sight!  Of course now it's been years since I've done it, but I still love skating (whether its skates, blades or even ice skating!)

My favorite part of the trips to the roller rink was when it was "couples" songs and my grandpa would gracefully glide my grandma out on the floor and they would do a bit of a dance.  It was special.  Those moments are forever locked in my heart! 

I did this particular layout well over a year ago (it was part of my HOF 2007 entry) but thought I would finally bring it out of hibernation and post it.  :)

The journaling reads: It was in 1948 in Spencer, Iowa when a young boy fell in love with a girl at the roller skating rink. He literally chased her around the roller rink for over a year before she finally gave him a chance. It wasn't too long after the girl fell in love with the boy and they skated together for another 40 years.

On other scrappy news, I am about finished with the Boxer projects!  Yay!  Now I will begin the 6 (including my own) books from the bachalorette party a few weekends ago.  I want to have them done by next weekend.....Think I can do it???  Of course!  I thrive on time constraints!  :) lol.   I'm also working on a few pin cushions that have been ordered....plus adding another shape, a cupcake.  When I have that done I'll post that!  I know there's a few of you that are asking for that one!  :)  I also have a few other tasty treat pin cushions that are rattling around in my creative head, so hopefully after the wedding I'll start working on those!  Until later..... have a great and creative day!

July already???!!!!

Last night as we were paying bills, dh looks at me and says "It's July already??!!!"....yeah, time is sure flying by!  Soon it will be time to make little Andrew's 4th birthday plans!!!!  :) :)  I think we're going to take him to see Thomas. (the train)  :)

Have you seen the new summer contest over at Say It With Letters! It's a I Scream for Ice Cream contest!  I hope you enter!!!!  I'll be working on my ice cream soon! :) :)

Almost July!!!

I am so glad the months are flying by right now!  And in less than 2 weeks my sis in law will be married!!!!  :)  How about a quick card today?  There's not much else to post today....Have a great and creative day!!!!

Cake slice pin cushions

As you know my other hobby is quilting...I don't do it nearly as often as I would like but I try when I can.  A few weeks ago I got my assignment from Say It With Letters and we were to really "think out of the box".  One of the pieces I got was the banner and I kept looking at them and thinking "what could I do with them that would be out of the box and something different that maybe the other designers hadn't thought of." 

I found a cupcake pin cushion kit online (which I ordered but haven't completed yet) and thought....Hey!!!  I'm a cake decorator, why not make some cake slice pin cushions!!!  So I hot glued two of the banners together to give it more height, then I layered several pieces of batting on top and trimmed that.  Covered with fun fabric, ribbons and flowers and.....there you go.....

Just adding that soon I will have an Etsy shop open for these and will post that when I do, but if you want to order one now....Just email me!  They will sell at $15 +s/h and I will do custom colors!
