Jo Morton Secret Sister pin cushion

The quilting bug as really bitten me hard!  I not only joined our local quilt guild Hearts 'n pieces, but I have joined the local Jo Mortons group "Little Jo's Women" where we make little quilts using all of her fabric from Andover.   They have a yahoo group that I also joined to chat with other Jo's groupies and I'm particapating in the secret sister pin cushion exchange.  I again, made my cake slice pincushion and added some gorgeous Prima flowers and leaves as well as some pearls from Kasier Craft.  Oh, I so don't want to give this away!!!!!!

I'm so so pleased on how it came out!  :)  What do you think?

And while I was there at the Andover site, I spotted some new fabric that will be coming out in December!  Check this out:  Cosmo Cricket Snorkel line !!!!!!!!   Oh, I'm going to make a quilt for us to take to the beach! :)  Just perfect!

Now how about a layout....I don't do layouts as much as I used to.  I'm coming to the realization after I had over 1000 pics of Disneyland that I'll never scrap everything.  So I bought some regular photo albums and put them in.  The boys were happy to look through the albums.  I figure when I want to scrap a picture I'll pull it out to do. But at least we can look through the pics instead of having them in a box in a cabinet hidden away until I did scrap it.  Anyways...I did this layout a few months back...

Also it's my day to post on the Boxer DT blog...so go check that out too! :)

Tonight I have a date with 5 guys.....Joe, Donnie, Danny, Jordan and Jonathan...Oh oh, oh, oh oh...the right stuff! :) :) ;)  I've got really great seats and with my new point and shoot that takes AWESOME pics, can't wait to see what I can get from the concert tonight!

That's all for today!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great and creative day!!!

Winter Queen and Americana sampler

I wanted to share with you some projects I've been working on and finished recently.  The first is my "Winter Queen" by Mirabilia.  I've been working on her for I think 6 or 7 years????  Yeah, once I had the kids, the time spent on this hobby has really been put on the side.  I am so happy to have her done. The size of her is 11" x 17".  I've had the "Spring Queen" done for many years, and now only have the "Autumn Queen" and "Summer Queen" to work on.  I figure by the time the boys are in high school.  LOLOLOLOL!

Then the other project I finished is a quick (well quick for me) Americana sampler.  I love doing holiday projects!!!

Hopefully in the next month or so I'll be able to get both of these framed.  The Queens I plan on having them along the staircase on the wall.  Even though they are seasons they are really to beautiful to only have out for a few months.

I have my surgery date set!  :)  It's for August 19th, so I'll be able to do Andrew's bbq birthday party and still work at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara next month for Boxer!  Happy about all of that!

Tomorrow I'll be sharing a new project I just did yesterday and while looking online found some new fabric I want to make a beach blanket with!  Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Mark has been off all week and we've taken the boys to see "UP" (great movie!!!) and went to Six Flags the other day (very fun!!!) and now just taking care of things around the house.  And finishing up UFOS...dang I have too  many of those laying around my studio, from quilts, cross stitch pieces to cards, to layouts.  sigh.  Wish I didn't have to sleep, I'd get more done! lol!!!

Have a great 4th of July and I'll see you next week!

Sonda's scraproom shell

Today is my good friends' birthday!!!!  :) :) :)  Sonda is such a sweetie!  I wanted to do something special for her so when I got my assignment from Say It With Letters, I knew this would be perfect for her!  Her favorite color combo is pink and green and she is planning on decorating her scraproom in a beach theme...hence why this is perfect for her! :) :) :)  Happy birthday my friend! :) :)

The Quilting bug

I've been once again been bitten by the quilting bug.  Over the years I have always done a project or two, but right now I just want to do it so much more.  In fact, last night I went to our local quilting guild Hearts N' Pieces and joined!  My aunt is one of the co-founders and I know a few ladies already in there.  I'm the second youngest, but that doesn't bother me!  What I do love is that I don't have to get into the business side of this hobby.  It can remain that....a hobby.  No deadlines for magazines or design teams.  No stress over having the latest and greatest because the magazines will only publish that.  Oh, I'm so going to enjoy this!

As for scrapbooking, I'm still going to do it.  But it will not be my complete focal point.  I will still design for the few teams I am on.  I will still submit to magazines (as I still love seeing my name in print as well as there's another Disneyland trip I need to save up for next year).  And if some awesome opportunity came up I wouldn't say "No".  What you may see less of is me being on message boards.  Not that I'm on there all the time, but now it will be even less.  I've been enjoying the mornings browsing through some boards, but then staying off the computer for the rest of the day and actually getting more things done around the house (crafting and non-crafting).  I do have my iphone that I can check my emails when I need to throughout the day if needed.

So that's whats up with me.  :)

Oh, did you see that the June kit for CupCards {to go} is up???!!!! Sonda is no longer doing subscriptions...it's first come first serve!!  It's a great kit!  Here are a few of the cards I made with it.

June09 Happy father's day dad

I'll share more tomorrow.  I have to go in today to prep for this weekend.  It's graduation time in Livermore, and there's a bunch of extra stuff I need to do like make a bunch of graduation caps, petunias, make colors etc.  It will also be the first day where I have to take the boys with me.  sigh.  I hope they behave!!!  I'll be bringing the portable dvd player so hopefully they can chill for a couple of hours.

Until later, have a great day and do something creative for yourself!

It's my birthday!!!!

:) :) :) :)  Today I turn 34!  Don't feel any older than I did yesterday, but here I am a year older.... It's going to be a great day!  I already got pampered this morning, I got my nails done and even sprung for a pedicure...I don't get those done very often (maybe once every few years) It felt really good to be spoiled!  Here's how my nails look now....I even added a pretty flower!  Did you know that they have acrylic powder that is colored with glitter???  I had that done this time and it looks fab!!!  Since I do so much with my hands in my crafts that the paint chips easily, this way they won't! :)

Birthday nails

And I finished the birthday cake wall hanging banner!!!  I just love it!!!!  And it has ZERO calories...ok, well maybe a few from the chocolate you have to eat while you make it! ;)

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Have a great day!  (I know I will!) :) ;)
