Honestly, I wasn't even sure I would still *work* in the scrapbook industry. After the closing of Boxer Scrapbooks who've I've been with for over 5 years, I thought I would just retire. I haven't even sent anything in to be published since last September. But over the last 4 months or so I keep getting magazines in the mail that features my cards in them. Kind of gets me thinking. I've been able to find a few other companies that pay for endorsement fees, so why not still submit some cards. Besides I really do love seeing my name in print. (Which leads me to the one thing I've wanted to do my whole life was to write a book. It will happen. One day.)
So even though the last month I've been purging my scrapbook supplies (oh, what a great thing that was!) I've still have a bit to create with and to continue sending my cards to the magazine editors.
I thought I'd share a few cards over the last 6 months that have been published in magazines.
It's funny how it all works. The publishing game that is. Sometimes a card will be picked up right away and published within a few months. Others can sit in a file with the editor and then get published years later. Just the way it goes. And of course I have piles of AWESOME cards that have NEVER been asked for...so you just never know what the editor wants. You just have to keep playing, or sit on the bench and watch.
