On to happier things....

As I've been watching the funeral of the 4 slain officers this morning, I decided to spend the time working on a special project that I wanted to do for the boys....and for myself.  :)

It's absolutely no secret that my home away from home is Disneyland.  I can eat, breath, and live anything Disney related.  Really, I enjoy it even more than doing scrapbooking!!!  <gasp>  I KNOW!!  :)  But it is a place that really holds a very, very special place in my heart.  I wouldn't mind at all if I never got to travel Europe, or Australia or the rest of the US....as long as I got to go to Disneyland at least once a year.  :)

When I picked up this piece at the lss, I knew immediately what I was going to do with it. I wanted to create a countdown to our Disneyland vacations.  Not sure yet what I'll put inside all the boxes, but Sonda gave me the idea of making a "fake" key to the hotel (or even Disneyland) for the boys on the last day.

A moment of silence

Today is a somber day for those of us who live in/or near the Bay Area.   We have lost 4 fine Oakland police officers this last week. To read more about the shootings click here.  One of those fine men lived right here in my town of Tracy.  This morning after I dropped off James at school and headed to get a quick breakfast I saw fire trucks and police cars everywhere on 11th street.  A couple of fire trucks had their ladders fully raised and where holding a large American flag between them.  I wish I had my camera with me.  It was utterly moving and beautiful.   I have very close connections of police officers in my life.  My best friends husband is a cop in Livermore, my other close friend Sonda her husband is a cop, my husband's friend is a cop here in Tracy, and my new brother in law is a cop in San Jose.  It's such a tough job, and I hear so many people in the area think that cops are horrible and it breaks my heart!!!!  Their here to serve us.  Just like our soldiers.  And it's a damn shame that people think so little of them.  Especially the Oakland police force.  It is scary to be in that town.  When Mark had his office there for 9 years, and traveled around the area it worried me daily.  It's a place you don't want to be.  But I deeply am thankful for those men and women who bravely walk those streets to protect the citizens of Oakland.  Thank you! 

So I have my flag up today.  To remember these men.  And to say a prayer for their families.  And to also keep daily prayers lifted for all police officers, especially those close to me.  Join me if you will in a moment of silence and a prayer.  thank you.

Yesterday I made 2 more dining reservations at Disneyland.  For James' actual birthday dinner we are going to Goofy's Kitchen, where the boys can make their own pizza.  I've always wanted to go to Ariel's Grotto for dinner, so we have a reservation on the first night we're there.  Every time we go past that place it is jam packed, so calling ahead is the key! :)  Hey Sonda!  Let me know what you suggest there! :) :) :)  And then on Saturday morning, before the in-laws head back home, we are all going to have breakfast with Lilo and Stitch over at PCH Grill....Hands down the best breakfast I've ever had in the entire park!!!!!  The pineapple scones are the best!!!!!  I wanted to stuff my pockets with them last time we were there! :) :)

Today I'm headed to the eye doctor...need a new subscription for contacts!  I hate going to the eye doctor....the worst is when they "puff" that air into your eyes...it takes me forever to get that done! lol.

So the Expo last weekend went great!  I really enjoyed doing the make and takes for Boxer, and am scheluded to work the Santa Clara show in August later this year!  I love working for Angie and Vicki, such down to earth wonderful people!!!!  What I'm bummed about is that I had my camera and didn't get a single picture!!!!!!  :(   It was so busy, I completly forgot!!!!!  Next time!!!!  Remind me Angie! ;)

3 weeks to go

As of yesterday.....You have no idea how badly we need this vacation coming up to Disneyland!!!!  I so want to get away from this small town, from household duties, from the daily grind and just relax and have fun and not have to worry about anything!!!!! We haven't had a vacation for almost 2 years, and with all the medical issues that Mark was going through last year...we really could use this.  I feel like yelling "Disneyland....take me away"....instead of Calgon. ;)

With last week being soccer camp for James and then I worked at the Expo with Boxer Scrapbook, I have not been able to scrap much.  Though I'm itching to get in the studio and do some things.   You want to see a few pics of James playing soccer???  :)  He did really good, clumsily, but he had a good time!

 

 

 

This is what he liked doing most of the time....hanging on the goal post.  lol.  For 2 1/2 hours everyday, it was tiring....this is what Andrew did most of the time....

 

 

 

He either rolled himself down the hill or spun himself around.  lol.  Yup, a 4 year old will always find something to amuse himself. :) ;)

Dream Street

Good morning!!!!  Only 4 more weeks until we head down to Disneyland...our home away from home!  Everyday I check out Mice Age and the Disneyland home site to look at the hours, pictures, and chat with other Disney freaks like me about our favorite place.  I'm really looking forward to our trip!  It is really needed!  This week I'm working on a special Disney project and hope to have it done in the next day or two so I can share with you.  I'll be gone on Friday and Saturday as I'll be at the Scrapbook Expoin Pleasanton working with Boxer Scrapbook!  Stop by and say Hi if your going!!!!

This week is also crazy busy for us....James started soccer camp yesterday!  Wow, that's a long 2 1/2 hrs. everyday!  But he seems to enjoy it, he got his knee scraped up a bit, so he was upset about that when we got home.  I'll be taking my camera today to take pictures.

Now on to some scrappy goodness!!!!  :) :)  I absolutely adore Dream Street!!!!  Tara the owner is such a sweetheart!  The papers are so fun and very easy to create with!!  And this year they added rub ons to their newest collections!  (I just got mine in the mail yesterday, so later I'll be playing with those!)  I have a few projects to share with you today....

Mini keychain album

changing it up a bit....

Well it has now been at least a week or more since I really had some good scrapbook time in my studio.  With the weather changing and the sun coming out, I've been in my garden planting new plants.  I'm so loving my lil' garden on the side of the house.  I have more plants to put in today, then I'll post a picture of it later. :)

So mondays is supposed to be the color day and I'm still not ready with any purple goodness....lol. What's funny is that purple used to be a favorite color of mine many many years ago as it was our wedding color.  There's not much going on this week so I will tackle the purple for next monday....But for today I wanted to share some cards I did for the March kit at CupCards {to go}.
